I Failed.....

Well it's the last day of the year and I failed miserably on my resolutions. I did not get published. What I did do, was learn how difficult it is to get published and how much time you need to devote to even try and get published. I simply cant work 50-60 hours a week and scrap every night enough work to bombard the industry with my creative side. What I did learn also is by doing this, your wrist becomes hurt and this causes you to stop blogging, scrappin and typing till it is healed.

As 2009 heads out and 2010 comes in, I do have some more realistic goals I hope, but not sure I want to put them in writing!!!

To everyone in blog land, Happy New Year and can't wait to see whats in store for all my friends, family and readers.

I should be doing...

I should be doing many things, like cleaning up the house from Christmas and paying bills. Instead I am shopping for kindle skins, reading blogs and working on my Hybrid class. I watched Gone with the wind last night so its appropriate to say... "I'll think about it tomorrow!"
So here is the class preview. The title will be what a year and had one pic a month for the entire year. I saw something simliar in creating keepsakes magazine and thought my students would love scrappin an entire year in a two page layout. I need to add some cardstock and chipboard title and we are done. Happy Sunday. I am looking forward to drinks and pita bread at Cafe Med with Candy tonight!!

The Graphics Fairy

Stumbled onto this site today while waiting for the action to happen. First saw it on the Cocoa Dasiy website. She is called the graphics Fairy. Lots of cute vintage clip art and if you explore more, you will find her background and blog site too. Go explore. Its all free.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas. It came so fast. I am sitting here waiting for the rest of the household to wake up and I just can't seem to find the magic this year. Maybe it is because work has been so hard lately, maybe its cause my children do not live at home anymore, maybe.... I hope it turns around once both kids are here and opening their gifts I picked out special for them!! We have a busy day with traveling to Visalia to see Nana in the home to cooking Christmas dinner at Garrett's house. That I am excited about. I am so very proud of both Rachel and Garrett. Words cannot express my pride and love for them. So I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas.

Week in Recap

Well as with everyone, this past week has been sooooooo busy. Work is just out of control and trying to fit in time with friends, appointments, wrapping gifts (i have wrap rage), begging Heather and anyone else who will listen to wrap my gifts, shopping for last minute gifts, finishing one last gift ...... I just had no time to blog. So here is a little recap!

1. Got my little sexy car one week ago. She is a dream to drive and love love love it.

2. Wednesday was our Xmas potluck at work. I brought a turkey to cook in the rotisserie. I have done this six or seven times before. I dragged it up the stairs with all the other stuff, wrapped it with twin etc and loaded it in the set it and forget it. I left a note for Taryn to start it at 8:30 am. Well at 9 am I get a frantic call the turkey is having issues. Well I forgot to mention that I woke up on the wrong side of the bed Wednesday so this just was my straw! Tommy said don't worry I will tie it up. I said with what? I have no more twine. He said with 3.0 silk!

Yes Tommy stitched the turkey wings to the body. (inset Oh Sigh here) Soooo funny. Alas it worked for one hour then started giving me grief again, so I stopped it and we had KFC.

3. Richard hunts every weekend. Duck hunts. The ducks have been slow this year so he went to the club late Saturday am this week. He was rewarded with a HUGE GOOSE. It was 3 ft long and I know I will have another taxidermy nick nak soon (insert Oh Sigh here)

4. Saturday was the second annual Banducci Santa Party. Now I did not know a sole there really and had no kids. So I sat there with kids screaming all around, wondering why am I here? Its what bff's do for each other. Santa was great, candy cane making great and fun was had by all.

Today I will finish a couple of gifts (digital book) and I have to get a new alarm clock and best of all my RACHIE is coming home today and Richie is cooking king crab legs yum yum!

She is sooooo Sexy

Well Friday night I took possession of my new sexy luxury sedan. She is soooooooo sexy.

My Lincoln MKS. She drives like a dream and the twin turbo "mo mo" as my husband calls it just screams when you put your foot into it. Just love it. It rides and feels inside just like the Lexus LS which was my second choice. But I have to say that it was the easiest car I have every bought. The American made dealers, are "dealing right now" and Lexus and BMW were not and the destination charges really put the $$$$$$ on the price tag. So today Richie and I are taking it on a road trip. Yipeee.

Okay I am shopping for a new car. I really really really really really really really wanted a BMW 7 series. But alas its out of my price range. Oh sigh. When I think about it, its really outrageous the price they charge for that lovely piece of metal. So off I went to look for something else. I am down now to three choices. Lexus GS, Lincoln MKS and the Cadillac CTS. Black on black of course as I think all luxury cars look better in black. Tomorrow Richie is bringing the CTS and the MKS for me to test drive. Then I will make my decision. I have to say the American made cars (Lincoln and Cadillac) are much more willing to deal and their financing is much better than Lexus. I know one thing what ever car I get will be fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Oooh La La.

Some more of Little Lucy

Well today is the last day of my Vacation :( Had so much to do and not enough time. Ugh. Finished the Xmas cards, cleaned my desk and laundry room in prep for wrapping. Started Navy Bean and ham soup for Tommy's lunch and shopped for a new car. Everything I want is out of my budget. How far is that? Here are some more pics of Little Lucy that I took yesterday. Enjoy.

Wow what a whirlwind

I can't believe how my vacation has flown by. I always take the week after Thanksgiving off. After cooking two thanksgivings, I headed to Vegas with my pal Debbie to do Xmas shopping. We had a great time. Did a lot of shopping and saw Phantom, which was FABULOUS and also had the best Pearfect Pear martini ever! Then it was back home to head to LA for a couple of appointments and Richard and I had Dinner at Lawry's. Dinner was great and then my day was filled yesterday with a mani/pedi and couple of doctors appointments. I also did several xmas cards for people in between. So as I sat down today I was amazed that I have not blogged for a week! Ugh. So now you can see why!

Today I am off for a sewing lesson with Suzanne and a massage. Tonight is our xmas party and my goal is to make a Pear martini worthy of Vegas.
